Release 6.3.1

Avaya Aura Application Enablement Services (AE Services) Release 6.3.1 was made generally available in October 2013 as part of the Avaya Aura Platform 6.2 Feature Pack 3 release. The release includes a full set of reissued SDKs, Clients and server software, plus a number of updated product and developer guides. This is not the latest AE Services release. The latest release is recommended for new development.

Important The following end of sale and end of support dates have been announced:
  • End of sale: July 2, 2018
  • End of support: July 2, 2019

Features in the new release

AE Services Release 6.3.1 includes the following new and enhanced features:

  • Geo-redundant High Availability
    Enables active and standby AE Services servers to be located in two different data centers. See the White Paper under the Downloads - Product Documentation tab for more information.
  • Virtualized environment footprint flexibility
    AE Services using VMware in the Avaya Aura Virtualized Environment enables the CPU and RAM of the virtual machine to be configured based on the number of available VMware licenses and the number of users to be supported.
  • Endpoint registration enhancements
    DMCC, TSAPI, and JTAPI applications can receive endpoint registration state events that indicate when an H.323 and SIP endpoint has registered to and unregistered from a monitored station. These applications may also query for the H.323 and SIP endpoints registered at a station extension.
  • Support for the Avaya Common Server - Dell PowerEdge R620 Server
  • Support for the Avaya Access Security Gateway (ASG)
    AE Services 6.3.1 supports the Avaya Access Security Gateway (ASG), which is a challenge and response authentication mechanism.
  • Support for Avaya Aura Communication Manager 6.3.2
  • Support for the Microsoft Lync Server 2013

Compatibility Information

Compatibility with AE Services Release 5.2, 6.1 and 6.2 Applications

All DMCC, Web Services, JTAPI and TSAPI applications created with the AE Services Release 5.2.x, 6.1.x or 6.2 SDKs and client libraries will work seamlessly on AE Services Release 6.3.1 without the need to recompile code and without the need to replace any third-party library components.

Note: AE Services 5.2, 6.1 and 6.2 DMCC applications must specify the appropriate protocol version. If a protocol version is not specified, the server will default to 6.3 and the application may receive unexpected XML messages with added elements and/or receive new XML messages.

AE Services 6.3.1 is compatible with the following Communication Manager Releases:

  • Communication Manager 5.2.1
  • Communication Manager 6.0.x
  • Communication Manager 6.2
  • Communication Manager 6.3
  • Communication Manager 6.3.2

Communication Manager 6.3.2 is compatible with the following AE Services Releases:

  • AE Services 6.2
  • AE Services 6.3
  • AE Services 6.3.1

Compatibility with System Platform Releases

AE Services 6.3.1 on System Platform is compatible with the following versions of System Platform:

  • System Platform R6.3.1.08001.0
