Avaya Aura Application Enablement Services

Overview (Continued)

Application Enablement Services is an important component of the Avaya Aura next generation architecture, which consolidates several previously separate products and new components into a holistic package that makes it easier to obtain everything enterprises need for Unified Communications.

Application Enablement Services provides the ability for traditional IT data application developers to interface with Avaya Aura Communication Manager as an evolution server through a variety of traditional APIs, as well as standard web services via SOAP/XML for select functionality (notably System Management Service for provisioning and Telephony Web Services for limited Call Control functionality). These services enables integration of business and communication applications to leverage the power of real-time telephony and system management functions of Communication Manager via traditional protocols and in some cases a web service, providing a standard and familiar method for IT data application developers to implement new and innovative solutions.

Application Enablement Services delivers the CTI architecture and platform that supports existing Call Center application requirements, along with new emerging telephony APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) as they become available. Application Enablement Services consolidates multiple CTI server platforms onto a single server while supporting the leading industry APIs.

Important Notice about Supported Avaya Aura Application Enablement Services APIs: DevConnect provides developer support for DMCC, TSAPI, JTAPI, System Management Service (SMS) Web Service and Telephony Web Service only, when used in conjunction with Avaya Aura Application Enablement Services. CVLAN Client downloads are available for AE Services Release 5.2 and later, but CVLAN is NOT supported by DevConnect.
